After losing two loved ones to cancer, Olivia felt empowered to take something negative and create something positive out of it.
At age 14, Olivia founded Cancer Kids First, the world's largest youth-led organisation that works towards lessening the challenges paediatric cancer patients face. They have supported over close to 10,000 lives since 2019, through five diverse programmes: Arts, Toys/Books, Care Packages, Treatment Services, and Patient Interaction. They also host a variety of online events, webinars, and fundraisers to unite 40,000 young people in fostering a supporting environment for patients.
In four years, Cancer Kids First has built coalitions with 39 businesses and organizations. The organisation has sent over 30,000 cards and crafts to thousands of patients in 19 countries, donated over 20,000 resources to 70 paediatric cancer hospitals, and initiated 200+ events for patients worldwide.
They have utilised social media to spread their reach, sharing their story and mission with over 4.4 million teens through TikTok and Instagram. As a result, their volunteers skyrocketed from 120 to 7000 in one week.
Olivia’s drive is to ensure support is there for paediatric cancer patients across the world and encourage social action work within her generation.
