Overview

ServiceNow, in partnership with The Diana Award, has launched the RiseUp with ServiceNow: Advanced Foundations cohort, a 10-week, full-time intensive programme designed to equip individuals with the skills needed to enter the ServiceNow technology space.  

Participants will gain hands-on experience with the ServiceNow Platform, participate in instructor-led learning, complete RiseUp with ServiceNow’s digital and employability skills curriculum, and earn globally recognised ServiceNow certification.

Who is this programme for?

This programme is open to anyone aged 18-30 based in South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria, and not currently employed by ServiceNow, ServiceNow Customer and ServiceNow partner.

You don’t need any qualifications or experience to apply. As a charity it is our mission to widen access to opportunities and so we encourage applications from groups under-represented in the tech industry and aged under 30 years old.

We are looking for learners who:

  • Proficient in English (written and verbal)
  • Eager to launch a tech career
  • Demonstrate a growth mindset
  • Like solving problems with a logical, step-by-step approach
  • Able to commit for the full duration of the programme
  • Feel comfortable with the idea of learning new software programmes
  • Are comfortable working with other people, and like the idea of presenting or explaining your findings in simple, easy to understand way

What is the Eligibility Criteria?

  • Aged between 18-30
  • Based in South Africa, Nigeria or Kenya
  • Have the legal right to work and live in your country (excluding student/temporary residency visas)
  • Available full-time for the duration of the programme (10 weeks)
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in spoken and written English
  • Not currently employed by a ServiceNow customer or partner
  • Have access to a computer with reliable internet and camera (no mobile phones or tablets)
  • No prior formal experience with ServiceNow (self-guided training on ServiceNow University is allowed)
  • No prior mainline ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CAD, ITSM-CIS etc)
  • Have not previously completed a NextGen, Rise Up, or ServiceNow Academic Programme including Government sponsored programmes like NASCOMM, AICTE, ICT Academy, TNDC (Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation).

What industry skills will you learn?

Technical Skills

We’ll help you learn the technical skills with lots of hand-on, interactive sessions. By the end, you will understand:

  • Develop foundational knowledge of the ServiceNow Platform, including configuring applications, self-service options, business logic, and integrations.
  • Gain hands-on experience in application design, creation, and management using tools like Flow Designer, Service Catalog, and scripting with JavaScript.
  • Master monitoring, data management, and packaging enhancements, as well as ensuring instance health, security, and effective access controls.
  • Build skills in user interface design, process automation, problem solving, analytics, and communication within IT or computer science contexts.
  • Understand the fundamentals of artificial intelligence, including ethical and responsible AI use, and how to leverage AI to improve workflows and outcomes in ServiceNow.
  • Explore ServiceNow AI Agents: their key elements, terminology, capabilities, differences from Now Assist, and practical management and enablement within the platform.
