Komal realised that, even though she is a teenager, she can still help to make a positive change and do something for the benefit of others. The Mentoring Programme helped her to become more confident and vocal about her social action work, Komal has even made a speech at Birmingham Chambers of Commerce to senior business leaders from across the area to persuade them to sign up as Mentors too. Komal believes that the Mentoring Programme has made her more understanding, helping her to see a different point of view and become more empathetic and caring towards others.Komal is particularly inspired by Prince Harry and his personal approach to charity work and young people, showing that he truly cares about helping people in need. She would like to volunteer as a Mentor herself in the future “to help those young people and give the experience that I was given in order to help improve our community and help instil the right values and ideology in them for a bright future”.
