Specifically, Erick is committed to raising awareness about anti-microbial resistance.
As a pharmacy student, Erick learned about anti-microbial agents, their impact on global health, and the danger posed by the growing resistance to life-saving drugs. This knowledge galvanised him to dedicate himself to finding a solution.
Erick led a nationwide anti-microbial resistance campaign in 23 administrative regions of Tanzania which educated over 49,000 students and teachers in 114 secondary schools.
Erick also encouraged secondary students to join the initiative, with 122 anti-microbial resistance ambassadors volunteering their time to spread awareness in their respective communities.
