Muna has been a determined, brave, and quirky activist from the age of 14. She began to discuss, raise awareness around, and campaign against Female Genital Mutilation while the subject was still taboo.
Muna co-founded the charity Integrate UK where she trains young people to deliver peer education on a wide range of issues. She has delivered FGM safeguarding training to thousands of front-line professionals.
Muna’s work has contributed significantly to policy change around FGM. She has given evidence to the Home Office Select Committee and spoken at national and international events on FGM and the rights of women and girls.
Despite, at times, fierce and vocal opposition, Muna has bravely stood her ground and defended her and her friends’ rights to discuss, raise awareness and campaign against FGM.
