LOGAN'S STORY_

Logan was supported by mentors from Wakefield District Housing (WDH), Melon Holidays and a student from Leeds University. The social action project they selected was discrimination. Logan said “Discrimination was picked as our final topic as people discriminate different races and genders, etc, and we want to make a difference in the school and local community for both children and adults. I am particularly passionate about mental health, I did a presentation on this and my ideas have been included into this project”.Logan explained “I have developed my leadership skills doing this project, as my previous experience is leading in sport. I have also developed friendships with people in different year groups through the programme too. I’m most proud of the social action project and the fact that the head teacher has incorporated this into the curriculum”.Tim, his Mentor from WDH, was very impressed with the way Logan and the rest of the team worked together. Logan added “Although I’m unsure of what I want to do as a career I am keeping my options open, however, the programme has provided me with vital skills including team work, leadership and project managing.”
