GABRIELLE’S STORY_

Discimus Foundation

Gabrielle is a passionate young leader who is determined to improve the quality of computer education in rural communities worldwide.

After a trip to Phnom Penh in 2019 where she had the opportunity to visit local schools, Gabrielle learnt that students had never seen or used a computer before. They also expressed their desire for computer education. This sparked the idea to create Discimus Foundation which, to date, has provided computer labs and technology classes to over 9,000 students, supported by 30+ volunteer teachers.

Since 2021, Discimus Foundation has raised over £30,000 to set up six computer labs in Cambodia, Uganda, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and Zambia. Gabrielle has personally created seven computer and coding courses to teach children between 10 to 18 years old.

Despite facing many challenges within the rural communities, she has established partnerships between Discimus Foundation and six local charities to further enhance the technology education landscape in rural countries.

Gabrielle is a strong believer in Princess Diana’s legacy that no matter what age, we all have a voice and can contribute to creating positive change.
