THE DIANA AWARD NOMINATION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The Diana Award is open to anyone wishing to nominate a young person aged 16 – 24 years old at time of nomination. They may be 25 years old when the award is received. Nominees must have been carrying out their social action work for a minimum of 12 months, and their work should align with one or more of the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):  

  1. Quality Education
  2. Good Health & Wellbeing
  3. Reduced Inequality
  4. Climate Action

As the person completing the nomination form and the primary contact The Diana Award will liaise with during the nomination process, please read the Terms and Conditions below carefully.

NOMINATOR ELIGIBILITY

If a Nominator is found to have breached the eligibility criteria, the nomination will be deemed invalid.
Should this breach come to light after an award has been granted, the Nominee may have their award withdrawn on the basis of ineligibility.

  • Nominators are required to provide information about themselves to complete the first stage of the nomination application, including name, email address, phone number, country, job title, and name of organisation. This is to enable us to verify their identity, contact them regarding the nomination, and ensure the integrity of the nomination process.
  • Nominators must be over 18 years of age.
  • Nominators must provide the contact details of two additional Supporters to validate the nomination. Supporters should know the Nominee in a professional capacity and must not be family members or friends of the Nominee.
  • Nominators are required to consent to sharing their personal information, including name and email address, with the Nominee. This enables transparency between both parties, allows the Nominee to understand who has nominated them, and enables us to contact the Nominee if needed.
  • Nominators must provide three pieces of additional evidence to support the Nominee’s social action work.
  • Self-nominations are not accepted. A Nominator must know the young person in a professional capacity and be able to provide evidence of their impact, along with contact details for two additional Supporters.

NOMINEE ELIGIBILITY

Nominators are responsible for ensuring that the individual(s) they nominate meet all published eligibility criteria. Nominations that do not meet these criteria will be considered invalid.

If any part of a nomination is found to include false or misleading information, whether during the selection process or after an award has been granted - the nomination may be disqualified, and any award already given may be withdrawn.

  • Nominees must be aged between 16-24 years of age at the time of nomination, and before the nomination deadline of 31st October 2025 (they may be 25 years of when they receive the award)
  • Nominees cannot be related to the nominator either as a family member or as a friend.
  • Nominees must have been carrying out their social action work for a minimum of 12 months.
  • Nominees’ social action work must align with one or more Sustainable Development Goals listed to be eligible for an award; Quality education, Good Health & Wellbeing, Reduced Inequality and Climate Action.

SUBMISSION & DEADLINE

  • Entries must be submitted via the official Nomination Centre form before Friday 31st October 2025, 17:00 GMT.
  • Only complete entries will be reviewed.
  • Entries submitted by email, post, or fax will not be accepted.
  • All entries and supporting evidence must be in English.
  • The Diana Award accepts no responsibility for failure to submit entries by the stated deadline, incomplete entries, or those lost due to internet issues.
  • Proof of submission is not proof of delivery.
  • Nominators may submit multiple nominations, provided each Nominee meets the criteria and a separate, complete nomination is submitted for each individual. However, only one nomination per young person will be reviewed.
  • Entries received after the deadline or incomplete at the time of the deadline will not be accepted.

SELECTION PROCESS

  • All entries will be reviewed by The Diana Award staff.
  • Nominators may be asked to provide additional evidence or materials after submission.
  • Entries that pass the initial assessment checks, including risk and safeguarding reviews, will be forwarded to an external panel of judges appointed by The Diana Award.
  • The decisions of the external judging panels and The Diana Award in all matters affecting the Awards are final. No correspondence will be entered into regarding these decisions.

USE OF INFORMATION

  • The Diana Award will not share the Nominator’s details with anyone making a general enquiry. All information submitted within the nomination form is confidential.
  • Submitted materials will only be shared internally with The Diana Award team and external judging panels.
  • If successful, the Nominee will be required to give consent for The Diana Award to produce publicity materials based on the nomination. These materials may be edited by The Diana Award if required and may be used in any media format, worldwide.
  • Personal data will be processed in accordance with our Privacy and Data Protection Policy.

AWARD RECOGNITION

  • Nominees and Nominators will be notified if successful in June 2026.
  • If successful, the Award will be under strict embargo until the official release of The Diana Award Virtual Ceremony and Roll of Honour. This ensures the prestige and excitement of receiving The Diana Award is maintained.
  • Award recipients will be announced publicly on 4th November 2026 at The Diana Award Virtual Ceremony.
  • No cash alternatives to awards or prizes will be offered.

NOMINATOR CODE OF CONDUCT

Nominators are expected to act in good faith and uphold the values of integrity, respect, inclusivity, and fairness throughout the nomination process. By submitting a nomination, nominators agree to the following:

  1. Accuracy and Honesty
    Nominations must be truthful and factually accurate. Deliberate exaggeration, false information, or misrepresentation of the Nominee’s achievements may result in invalidation of the nomination.
  2. Respect and Fairness
    Nominations must reflect the spirit of the award, and must not include content that is defamatory, discriminatory, offensive, or otherwise inappropriate.
  3. Impartiality
    Nominators must not nominate themselves or submit multiple nominations for the same person under different names. Nominators must not nominate family members or friends.
  4. Confidentiality
    Nominators must respect the confidentiality of the review process and not attempt to influence the outcome through contact with judges, staff, or reviewers.
  5. Eligibility
    Nominators must meet the stated eligibility criteria both as a Nominator, and those for the Nominee, and provide accurate contact information for follow-up if required.

Any breach of these Terms and Conditions may result in immediate invalidation of the nomination.

REVOCATION OF AWARD

At The Diana Award, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct. We reserve the right to revoke an award if there is a breach of our Terms and Conditions by a nominator, or a breach of the Diana Award Code of Conduct by a Nominee. This includes, but is not limited to, safeguarding concerns, ethical misconduct, or any actions that compromise the values, reputation, or integrity of The Diana Award.

Any decision to revoke an award will be made in line with Charity Commission guidance, through a fair and transparent process. We will always act in the best interests of the charity, carefully considering safeguarding responsibilities, ethical standards, and reputational risk. Where appropriate, we may also seek advice and support from the Charity Commission.

As a charity, we have a duty to act with care and diligence, protecting the integrity of our programmes and maintaining the trust placed in us by our beneficiaries, supporters, and the wider public.

AGREEMENT

By submitting a nomination, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions throughout the whole process.

The Diana Award reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time by posting changes online.
