YOUR ANTI-BULLYING WEEK STORIES

Five young people share their thoughts and feelings about bullying in their own words, including one of our very own Anti-Bullying Ambassadors.

This Anti-Bullying Week the CBBC have created a series of short animations that spotlight stories of bullying from five young people. The animations capture the thoughts and feelings about bullying and portrays each young person as a character that illustrates their story.

“Even though it might feel like it’s just you, so many people around the world are going through the same thing. So remember that you’re never going to be alone.” - 'Young Person speaking to CBBC'

The theme for Anti-Bullying Week this year is ‘Make A Noise About Bullying’. The aim is to empower young people, teachers and parents to do something positive to counter the harm and hurt that bullying causes. Coordinated by the Anti-Bullying Alliance, Anti-Bullying Week is a time where schools can inspire their students to stand up to bullying behaviour.

“To me bullying is when people don’t like that you’re different to them”. - 'Young Person speaking to CBBC'

Across the week, the CBBC are uploading one story (animation) a day on YouTube as Shorts. The animations will also be shown on the CBBC channel throughout the day in between shows.

At The Diana Award we aim to put young people at the forefront of everything we do. These animations have helped elevate the voices of five young people, giving them the platform to share their experiences and advice for other young people who might be facing bullying. There are many important things we can learn from these stories, with our favourite being:

“It’s all about putting yourself in the other person’s shoes. Help someone and make their day better.” - 'Young Person speaking to CBBC'
