THE DUKE OF SUSSEX to ATTEND NATIONAL YOUTH MENTORING SUMMIT

HRH The Duke of Sussex will attend The Diana Award National Youth Mentoring Summit on Tuesday 2 July 2019 in London.

The Diana Award is delighted that HRH The Duke of Sussex will attend The Diana Award National Youth Mentoring Summit on Tuesday 2 July 2019 in London. The Duke of Sussex has seen our Mentoring Programme in action and supports projects that enable young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to build their skills and confidence.

At the summit, His Royal Highness will join industry experts, business professionals and government officials alongside young people who have benefited from mentoring.

The aim of the UK’s first National Youth Mentoring Summit is to redefine the conversation around mentoring and its potential to change trajectories for young people, businesses and communities.

As millions of young people head back to school this September, new research, commissioned by leading youth charity The Diana Award and the UK’s largest online mental health support service Kooth, has revealed while more than half (56%) of the UK’s young people have experienced bullying, many are ‘suffering in silence’ with one in three (39%) saying they have avoided telling their parents or carers because they thought they wouldn’t understand.
