HSBC CONTINUES TO HARNESS THE POWER OF MENTORING
FOR YOUNG PEOPLE IN JERSEY WITH THE DIANA AWARD
The Diana Award is delighted that HSBC Channel Islands and Isle of Man has committed to provide a further two years funding to deliver the Jersey Mentoring Programme.

Launched on 21st October, the programme is now in its third year and is once again proudly supported by The States of Jersey Police who are providing ten dedicated mentors to young people who have been selected from the Island’s Secondary State schools. Through the proven success of the programme, support has been extended further with The States of Jersey Ambulance Service providing an additional four dedicated mentors allowing for a total of 14 young people to benefit from the programme this year. Over the past two years the Mentoring Programme has supported 24 young people in Jersey by improving their workplace readiness, increasing social mobility and instilling active citizenship. The programme also helps in developing emotional intelligence and confidence, as well as post-secondary school work skills and building positive relationships between young people and figures of authority through their mentors.
The Lieutenant Governor of Jersey His Excellency, Air Chief Marshall Sir Stephen and Lady Dalton are continuing their support as Patrons of the Jersey Mentoring Programme and provided some words of support and guidance ahead of the launch of the new programme.

Mentees who have completed the programme
