Feedback from training/programme:

‘I am convinced that our improved attendance now 95.3% and fall in exclusions is a direct result of our engagement with The Diana Award Anti-Bullying Programme. Having Anti-Bullying Ambassadors trained by you has changed lives, attitudes and I would go as far to say the whole culture of our school’.
Julia R Turner, Head teacher, Churnet View Middle School, Leek, Staffordshire

‘I wanted to say a very big thank you for yesterday. It is one of the most useful days I have spent with students for a long time and I think the work that you are doing is fantastic’.
Feedback on training by Serena Evans, Assistant Head teacher, Coombeshead Academy, Devon

‘I have to admit I do bully other students but after today I’m not going to bully’.
A 10 year old from Hope School, Liverpool. Hope School provides for boys with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. Almost half has additional needs, the most predominant being attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. All pupils have a statement of special educational needs and are from Liverpool and the surrounding area. Almost one in five is a looked-after pupil.

‘Just wanted to say a huge thank you for today. It was superb to see the students so involved, engaged and keen to get the ball rolling. I was worried that I would have to drag them all through the project, but your inspiration has meant they are all buzzing and will be taking full ownership of the project (as it should be!).’
Tom Graham, Year 10 Leader, Kingsbridge Community College

‘Reporting incidents seems more common and we have had a 19% reduction in incidents of name calling this year, since being part of the Diana Award programme’.
Ann Foxley-Johnson, Anti-Bullying Lead, Springwell Community College, Derbyshire

Here is a video of the programme in action!

The Anti-Bullying Ambassadors programme is currently in over 600 schools, primary and secondary of all abilities.

The programme trains young people across the UK to be anti-bullying ambassadors in their schools and communities. Along the way we help them by holding training events, giving them inspiration, practical ideas and top tips. Ultimately these ambassadors help to prevent bullying and ensure everyone feels safe and happy in their school.

How can you get involved?

If you work with young people, you can nominate them to be Anti-Bullying Ambassadors. By doing this you will give a young person the opportunity to prevent bullying in an innovative way, with a network of young people so they can share best practice. The Ambassadors Programme will equip them with training which includes the confidence and skills to speak out against bullying.

Please leave your contact details on the form below. We will contact you and tell you more about the programme and how to sign up ambassadors.

Watch our Anti-Bullying Programme Manager Alex on Channel 5 Thursday 4th April at 10pm and Thursday 11th April at 10pm!

The Diana Award’s Anti-Bullying Ambassador Programme has teamed up with Anti-Bullying Campaigner Jodie Marsh to share some of the good practice that exists in the UK when it comes to bullying and behaviour.

Featured in episode 2 is Alex Holmes. Alex is our Anti-Bullying Programme Manager, he was bullied at school and turned this passion into a full-time job after receiving a Diana Award for his campaign work. He now trains young people across the country (as far as London, Leeds, Scotland, Ireland and the Isle of Wight) to be Anti-Bullying Ambassadors.

Anti-Bullying Ambassadors ensure that their school or organisation is a safe, happy and bully free environment. We train schools, adults and staff giving them the knowledge, inspiration and practical ideas to make a difference.

Currently we have trained over 5,000 young people and the programme has reached 600 schools in partnership with the government’s Department for Education.

If you would like to get in touch with Alex or find out how you can bring the Anti-Bullying Ambassadors programme to a school or organisation near you, please email: antibullying@diana-award.org.uk We train lots of young people and adults across the country, but at present are a small team- we will aim to get back to as soon as possible.
