KANCHAN'S STORY_

Growing up in Nepal, Kanchan experienced first-hand how women and girls often suffer the worst from malnutrition and poverty in South Asia.

From her own experience, Kanchan established the social enterprise Sustainable Fish Farming Initiative at age 16 which specialises in solving food insecurity and poverty through sustainable aquaculture. Today, SFFI alongside Kanchan’s other initiatives is uplifting the lives of over 50,000 rural Nepalese citizens, providing them with access to finance, technology, local assets and training, while conserving our oceans.

Kanchan is also the Founder and Executive Director of the youth-led social enterprise and has also raised over $100,000 for the 2015 Nepal Earthquake relief. In 2017 Kanchan was recognised with a Presidential Honor Roll Award by President Clinton.

Kanchan is committed to creating a world where no person goes hungry even for a single day.
