SOCIAL MEDIA COMMUNITY GUIDELINES_

Our Social Media Community Guidelines

We use social media to communicate with the people we support, and to provide information to keep the general public up to date with our work and opportunities to get involved. It is also a place for providing inspiration, encouragement, information, and discussion.

It is important that our social media channels are a safe and positive place for the community to have conversations and share their stories if they wish.

To make this possible, we ask people to follow the guidelines below when interacting with our social media channels, to foster and maintain this community of kindness.

Posting Guidelines

  • Be respectful of others and their opinions.
  • Do not make personal attacks in your comments.
  • Do not post content that incites hatred based on race, religion, gender, nationality or sexuality or any other personal characteristic.
  • Do not post content that is disrespectful, malicious or offensive.
  • Do not post anything that could be libellous or defamatory: if an accusation is made against a named person, for example a member of staff on one of our programmes, we will hide it.
  • Do not post content that contains personal information like telephone numbers, address details, etc.
  • Do not post content that includes swearing or obscenity.
  • Do not breach any of the terms of any of the social media platforms themselves. This includes not posting sexually explicit or violent material.

Moderation Policy

Posts that do not adhere to our community guidelines may be removed or reported. Users who repeatedly post content that falls outside of our guidelines may be banned from participation in our communities.

On Facebook, Twitter and Instagram we will use our own discretion to hide comments that go against these guidelines. Your comment may still be visible to you but won’t be visible to others using the site.

Our working hours are 9am-5.30pm, Monday to Friday (with the exception of bank holidays) and during this period, we will do all we can to moderate our channels.

If you see something that doesn’t seem right, or that makes you feel uncomfortable, do try and make us aware if you feel able to do so by sending us a direct message on our social channels or emailing info@diana-award.org.uk.

Our community is stronger and more capable of creating positive change when we work together.
