The Diana Award Mentoring Programme combines the skills of mentors from the world of work and Diana Award youth facilitators. Together they guide a group of young people (years 8-10) through bi-weekly sessions over a 6 month period designed to provide mentees with access to opportunities, vital skills training and embarking upon a journey of social action.
THE PROGRAMME HAS THREE MAIN AIMS:
TO INSTIL ACTIVE CITIZENSHIP THROUGH YOUTH LED SOCIAL ACTION AND COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERING
TO IMPROVE POST-SECONDARY WORK READINESS THROUGH CAREERS AND EMPLOYABILITY TRAINING
DEVELOP CHARACTER AND ‘MENTAL TOUGHNESS’
