Kate Beresford

Diana Active Campaigner

Kate saw that there was a risk to the health of her community as her home town of Settle did not have access to any defibrillators; simple but expensive devices that can be used by members of the public to use in the event of a cardiac arrest. Following Kate’s successful campaign her school had raised enough money to buy their own defibrillator and another 3 in key areas within the community. Kate developed partnerships with cardiac health charities to ensure the ongoing growth of the project and plans for a fifth defibrillator are under way.
