Elsia Pop

International Diana Award

Elsia received The Diana Award for preserving her cultural heritage by teaching Mayan traditions and making Mayan handicraft in her community in Belize. She learned crochet and embroidery to make wristbands and works with sea glass to create jewellery. Receiving The Diana Award has encouraged Elsia to continue to make a difference to the lives of others. She is collaborating with another Award Holder on an anti-bullying project and hopes one day to work with other Award Holders to establish a centre for literacy and handicraft in her local community.
