“I received an International Diana Award back in 2013 for co-founding and leading an NGO called Riveria. Founded in 2009, Riveria is a student-run initiative that teaches underprivileged Indonesian children English. Receiving the award amplified media coverage on the organisation and subsequently enabled it to secure partnerships for operating in new locations. At present, the movement involves over 50 students teaching 300 children across four areas in Jakarta.

For me personally, the Diana Award goes beyond than just merely being an appreciation token and proof that young people can be responsible global citizens, it is also a way of upholding the spirit of selfless contribution and a call to action for people to join the award holders in serving society.”
