The Diana Award Presents
The Inaugural Legacy Award
in memory of Princess Diana
This year The Diana Award will present 20 exceptional young people, aged 9-18 with a ‘Legacy Award’ in memory of Princess Diana. Recipients of this new Award will be selected from 2018 Diana Award Holders, already recognised for their selfless commitment to transforming the lives of others across the world; they will be leaders, visionaries and role models able to inspire and mobilise new generations to serve their communities and make a positive change to the world, as Princess Diana believed they could.
As well as receiving the Legacy Award at a prestigious ceremony, recipients will also have access to a unique Development Programme which will provide them with the opportunity to enhance their skills in four key areas; leadership, community development, social entrepreneurship and technology for good.
Each Diana Award nomination will be reviewed by a regional judging panel, comprising of young people, experts in the youth sector, business and educational professionals. They will be looking for young people who demonstrate the qualities Princess Diana governed her life by; compassion, kindness and service with strong evidence provided.
All 2018 Diana Award Holders will be automatically be put forward as nominees for 20 Legacy Award honours. Our International Judging Panel will then have the difficult task of selecting 20 outstanding young Award Holders to go on to receive the prestigious Legacy Award in memory of Princess Diana.
“For me personally, the Diana Award goes beyond merely being an appreciation token and proof that young people can be responsible global citizens. It is a way of upholding the spirit of selfless contribution and a call to action for people to join Diana Award Holders in serving society"

“I’m proud that people can see what I’ve done and proud to have been awarded in memory of Princess Diana. I’m not just working to help other disabled people I want to inspire everyone to get into sport and do the best they can do. My advice is keep on doing what you are doing and don’t give up. Don’t put yourself down and keep thinking positive. My award has shown me that you can get to the next level and that you can go on to achieve more and more."
