Young Scots show they care
100 of Scotland’s kindest receive award from MSP Anne McLaughlin at the Scottish Parliament on 1st June. Over 1,500 young Scots have already been recognised by the Diana Award for making an outstanding contribution to their communities.
16 year old Gareth from Port Glasgow received an award for supporting his brother, who suffers from cerebral palsy and epilepsy, as well as volunteering in the Connect Leadership Group. Gareth said: “I was surprised when I heard I was going to receive the Diana Award. I am honoured to be presented with such a great award. I’m looking forward to spreading the word and getting more young people involved in my community.”
Anne McLaughlin MSP commented: “It is fantastic to see the achievements of so many young Scots who are determined to make the world a better place. I’m sure this award will spur them on to continue supporting their communities.”
