It is with great sadness that we heard the news of Robin Gibb’s death. Robin became an Ambassador to the Diana Award in 2008; and showed great commitment and support for the work of the Organisation and to the Award Holders themselves.
The Diana Award was set up in 1999 to act as a lasting legacy to Diana, Princess of Wales’ belief that young people have the power to change the world for the better.
As our Ambassador, Robin had a strong belief in the power of our Award Holders; and encouraged them to be confident in their own capabilities and aspirations to seek their full potential. He attended events, presented Awards, made every opportunity to meet and chat with Award Holders and generously offered his home for a fundraising event which we were planning with him just before he became ill.
The Award has lost a friend, a supporter and a champion. We have been the richer for having had him as our Ambassador and are the poorer today for his loss.

Award Holder, Andrea added: “My thoughts go out to his family and all of you; he was an upmost supporter of the Diana Award and everything that it stands for.”
