Anti-Bullying Conference
Anti-Bullying Week, 14-18 November kicked off with an amazing, action packed conference held at the Britannia International Hotel in Canary Wharf.
On Monday 14th November, 300 Anti-Bullying Ambassadors from across the UK participated in a number of workshops including dance, drama, graffiti art, and poetry. The aim of the first part of the day was to find creative ways of tackling bullying working with schools across the UK. Twist and Pulse, actor Will Poulter and Rachel Furner lead the workshops.
In the afternoon Anti-Bullying Ambassadors showcased the work they have already done during a networking session. A panel of VIPs answered young people’s questions on bullying and discussed the Diana Award’s new research showing an increase in cyber-bullying. The research featured on Sky News and the Sunday Telegraph, among other publications. For more information on the research click here.
The Ambassadors also took part in a Dragon’s Den event where they pitched their best anti-bullying ideas.
The event closed with a balloon release, with young people’s pledges attached, to show a colorful display of young peoples’ commitment to tackling bullying.
