The Scoop
Hello Diana Award Holders.
Friday 11th November was Takeover Day and I was lucky enough to take over Diana Award Chief Executive, Maggie’s job for the day!
Silence In The Square
In the morning Maggie and I went to Silence In The Square which was held in Trafalgar Square. The event was organised by the Royal British Legion to remember all the men and women who have lost their lives protecting our country. We proudly represented the Diana Award and therefore all our 36,000 Award Holders. It was very moving how everybody there respected the sacrifice others have made and continue to put their lives on the line to bring peace to the world. We felt privileged to represent you all and scattered petals from us all in the fountains in the square to show remembrance.
Preparation For My Speech
I started planning a speech ready to tell my friends back at school all about the wonderful work The Diana Award does and my great experience there on Takeover Day.
Fundraising Department
After a very successful morning I brainstormed all of my fundraising ideas. I felt very professional going in to the meeting room and telling everybody my ideas! Before the end of the day one of my ideas had already been sent to Barclays. We hope they will act on it so we can help increase the funding for the award.
Overall I have had an amazing day and learnt so many valuable skills.
